Venue: The Zone Rosebank Johannesburg

A ten year old girl who enjoys playing around with her best friend and experimenting with whatever that comes her way. She loves dressing up in whatever that she finds appealing whether it’s in the rubbish bin she doesn’t mind; that is who Carmen is. That is how she was brought up to be free and only focus on what makes her happy. Think of the Whip my hair singing sensation Willow Smith, a ten year old who dresses the way the wants to “ she was quoted saying on the Oprah Winfrey show that the song Whip my hair for her means being free and doing what makes her happy”. And that is exactly who Carmen is that is how she is established from the beginning of the film. Of course even for a ten year old if you are going to take such chances there are severe consequences we see Carmen as the laughing Stock of the town.

Through Carmen’s choices Traffic Cone says to its target audience, yes you are different but unique. In fact the things that you get mocked and judged about when you are younger are the things that make you unique when you are older.
